GUATEMALA
"I
enjoyed Guatemala immensely, and enjoyed our group, but particularly your
company, humor and spirit. You are, as Cece had told me in advance, bigger
than life (she is referring to spirit not girth, so relax!).
The memories are with us every day, great memories, of music, street
life, warm-hearted people, processions, colors, materials, masks (we brought
home 4, including the famous Tikal mask, my one impulse purchase) vases,
bowls, slingshots, etc... And thanks for your leadership of our colorful
huipile, jade and gem-studded past week in Guatemala. Memories of a
lifetime. Your trip fans and
devotees, now part of Cece's and my network of friends for life, know me
perhaps as the one who played his Irish whistle near the top of Picaya, as
we sat, caught our breath, and
surveyed the volcanic panorama, and as the flautist who answered the early
morning chorus of turf-protecting howler monkey's in Tikal.
Back home, 3am this morning, I couldn't resist unpacking and playing
the incredible quena I happened to find among the many dozens I tried in
Guatemala markets. For Cece it was the markets, the colors of vegetables and
clothing, the slingshot carvings. For me it was
the masks, and even more, this uniquely beautiful sounding quena I
happened to find, that made my trip...
The best of the world is discovered in music, poetry and art in all
its expressions (people, language, clothing, jewelry, hieroglyphics,
architecture.) You bring all of
that into our lives. Thank you
Buz, not just for recharging Cece's spirit and mine, but for
letting us into your world: adventure-travel friends, poetry of
unique cultures, indelible memories... I salute you."

"It was such a
incredible experience for both Kelly and myself especially being Buz rookies.
The trip was amazing and the people even more amazing.”

“The
Maya Guatemala trip was an exotic adventure in the comfort of quick friends
– a sensual picnic of frijoles and beer, panflute music and Español,
honeysuckle scented courtyards and terraced fields of calla lilies, markets
filled with rainbow colors and beautiful children, a rough touch of Vulcan
Aqua for us amateur climbers, and the roar of Howler Monkeys amidst pyramids
in the jungle of Tikal. The
week felt like a month because we experienced so much. Otra
más anytime, por favor!”
Vicki Hendricks
"Thanks for a wonderful trip to Guatemala! I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect; and,
frankly, everything exceeded my expectations (as to food, accommodations, and ease of
travel!!. My friends have commented as to how "energized" I seem to be when
speaking of this week's itinerary... especially, the Howler Monkeys at Tikal, and our
pre-sunrise visit to the excavations when we were the only (visible?) upright moving
species, totally at one with the elements of nature and the incredible evidence of a
centuries- old civilization. Therefore, your description of Peru sounds like the next (or
prequel) "step". Tell me more! Con mucho complemento!"
Gayle Wirtz
"Tikal was not the only amazing thing about the trip. It seemed that everywhere we
traveled there was beauty and tranquility with both the people and surroundings. It was,
by far, one of my most cherished trips, and I have been on all seven continents."

"Ive seen the ruins at Tikal and climbed to the top of an active volcano. I

"Great trip. Antigua is charming and I was in Heaven at the ChiChi market; people,
incense, etc. reminded me of Lhasa or Kathmandu. Accommodations were
wonderful

for the money."

"My 1st trip with Buz was most memorable. Of course getting married in
Tikal was an experience of a lifetime.
Climbing Volcan Agua one day relaxing

Adventures! Thanks Buz!"

"One of the most pleasant surprises was that we were not tourists on a
tourist treadmill
We felt welcomed by the Guatemalans
a lovely people.
Buzs guidance, etc. made us adjust and feel comfortable right away. And his
suggestions & advice along the way were perfect and never failed us. Great adventure!
Not just a trip or tour."
Nancy Hughes
"Fun people + great locations = Condor Adventure! It is such a pleasure to travel
to different and exotic places knowing you have a capable and experienced guide such as El
Condor. You are sure to see and experience wonderful sights and at times feel as though
you are back in a different era
This trip with Buz, my 2nd, was
especially memorable since my wife and I were married on top of Temple II in Tikal. If you
want to walk just a little left of center, a Condor Adventure is what you need."
